Fax Google![]() By Matt Gerchow Westerberg developed the process on July 14, 2009 while tinkering with the Google Voice product. After successfully testing it in his fax machine at home, he shared the invention with fellow participants in the Google support forum. Google Voice is that handy keypad menu that sits right next to ones Gmail inbox. By keying in each of the numbers with a mouse, one can make free phone calls in North America. Accordingly, just follow these steps to send a fax. Bear in mind, a fax machine is still needed to accomplish the task. Take note, Fax Google is only intended for sending fax at this time, not receiving one. 1. Before anything else, your fax machine must be properly set up and hooked to a line, like your home telephone line for example. 2. Also, check to see that the machine is powered up. 3. Next, with your Gmail account open, dial your home telephone number with 1 in front of it. 4. Do not forget the area code. 5. Next, type two dashes on the Google Voice interfaces alphanumeric keyboard. 6. Type the number 2, and then add two more dashes. Finally, enter the international dialing code (011), followed by the country code, city code and the phone number. By following the above six steps, you should be able to send a fax successfully, minus the long distance charges. If the process does not work, try repeating again. Bear in mind, there is to be no space while dialing all the numbers and dashes so be sure to follow the instructions for Fax Google carefully. |
